Sarah has over 25 years of experience teaching a wide variety of instruments and styles from beginners to professional level. Current and former students have performed with the National Youth Orchestra and National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain, and have achieved places - including scholarships - for further study at top UK conservatoires.
Sarah has given soloist, chamber music and multi-instrumentalist Masterclasses in the University of Massachusetts, the University of South Africa - and closer to home at Sheffield University, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Sarah is both a Mentor and a tutor for the London Musical Theatre Orchestra Development Scheme, and is also an external examiner and panellist for Trinity Laban, Guildhall and the Royal Academy of Music.
In January 2013 Sarah was appointed Saxophone tutor at the Junior department of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Prior to this, Sarah taught at the Junior department of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and at a number of London and the South East’s leading independent schools.
Sarah has been invited to coach for many courses including the Manchester Single Reed Summer School, Berkshire Maestros, the Guildhall Summer School, and educational workshops with members of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra.
Sarah has also coached saxophonists for the National Youth Saxophone Ensemble and the National Youth Wind Ensemble of Great Britain. She is currently the lead woodwind tutor for the National Children's Concert Band.
